Bitter/Sweet Strong Start in Tampa Bay.

The sweet part: The Bucs came out and dominated a week 1 matchup against the Commanders. Baker was baking and the offense looked refreshingly rejuvenated from Canales' predictable play-calling. Godwin looks to be moving more like he did pre injury coming up big on multiple 3rd down conversions. Rookie McMillan who impressed during camp also had a touchdown (and a dropped pass) but it looks like he can contribute right away to what looks to be a high scoring offense. Rachaad White still struggled with his YPC (yards per carry) against a strong Washington front (2.1 ypc on 15 attempts). Bucky Irving looked good with limited usage and Mike Evans is on a crusade to enter top 10 of all time.

Defensively, we struggled to contain rookie Jayden Daniels on the ground but we looked good all together. Giving up two touchdowns in a game that was well under control is a good look for us. Jordan Whitehead is reunited with the Bucs and he made an immediate impact leading the team in tackles and deflected a pass. Joe Tyron-Shoyinka is in a big "prove it" year and managed to bring down the elusive Jayden Daniels for his first sack on the season.

The bitter part: We started the season without young promising DL Calijah Kancey as well as Logan Hall. Throughout the game we also lost starting CB Zyon McCollum to a concussion. Off-season signing CB Bryce Hall has been placed on IR. Safeties Josh Hayes and more notably Antoine Winfield have both suffered injuries during the game as well. For a team that has struggled against the pass in the past, this is definitely grim news for our secondary. And timing couldn't be worse having to play against Jared Goff and a Lions team full of weapons.

We will look for our offense to strike early and often against one of the NFC favorites. If we can keep pace with the Lions offense and allow Todd Bowles to manufacture some stops. Bucs @ Lions Kickoff is Sunday, 9/15 at 1 PM EST.

Betting props I like (Not professional/financial advice)

  1. Jared Goff Passing Yards over 225 + with the Bucs secondary banged up look for the lions to attempt and exploit that.

  2. Amon Ra St Brown Receiving Yards 65+ not a strong outing week 1 and looking for a bounce back. He had 124 yards last game against the Bucs.

  3. Baker Mayfield over 10.5 Rushing Yards. Baker looks very confident running when the play breaks down. I think 10.5 is very doable for Mayfield.

    3 Bet Parlay + 225

I also like Yaya Diaby to record his first sack on the season after coming close twice last week.

You think White will lose more touches eventually if he isn’t able to run the ball?!
